Mission Statement

In the spirit of Service, Not Self, the mission of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 210 is to support The American Legion and to honor the sacrifice of those who serve by enhancing the lives of our veterans, military, and their families, both at home and abroad. For God and Country, we advocate for veterans, educate our citizens, mentor youth, and promote patriotism, good citizenship, peace, and security.

Vision Statement

The vision of the American Legion Auxiliary is to support The American Legion while becoming the premier service organization and foundation of every community providing support for our veterans, our military, and their families by shaping a positive future in an atmosphere of fellowship, patriotism, peace and security.

Eligibility Requirements

A woman who is eligible for membership in The American Legion is also eligible to join the American Legion Auxiliary. Mothers, wives, daughters, sisters, grand-daughters, great-grand-daughters and grandmothers of American Legion Members and deceased veterans who served in the United States Armed Forces during the listed war eras.

  • December 7, 1941 to December 31, 1946 (World War II)
  • April 6, 1917 to November 11, 1918 (World War I)

Youth Programs

Keystone Girls State is a non-partisan Government and Civics Leadership program designed to teach the importance of responsible citizenship and to empower young women to make a change in their community. To access the application, click the button below:

Our program is design to educate and empower young women to become responsible and informed citizens for the betterment of their city, county, and state. Each of our citizens have the power to make change in their community.

Keystone citizens will gain knowledge about the structure of Pennsylvania government, history of the United States, and using their voice to be force of good. Keystone Girls State strives to create an environment that promotes civility, understanding, and respect for all.

Supporting the Community

The Doylestown American Legion Auxiliary Unit 210 provides monetary support through fundraising to a number or organizations within the Doylestown Community. Below is a list of Local Organizations Supported by the American Legion Auxiliary Unit 210:

  • Albert R. Atkinson, Jr. American Legion Post 210: Providing several veterans’ services, run youth programs, and host community events throughout the year, the Auxiliary provides monetary support through fundraising.
  • Tails of Valor: Providing rehabilitation through non-medicinal therapies, the Auxiliary provides monetary support for canine assisted service programs through fundraising.
  • Doylestown Hospital First Baby of the Year: The Auxiliary annually donates a basket with a wide variety of baby items that are gifted to the first baby born in the year.
  • Bucks County Courts Veterans Treatment Program: The Auxiliary donates money raised through fundraisers to support this special, problem-solving court that provides comprehensive treatment and alternative sentencing options for our county’s honorably discharged veterans.
  • Veterans in Nursing Homes: The Auxiliary donates money, requested supplies, and more to different Veteran Affair Homes and the Neshaminy Manor.
  • Americanism Essay Contest: The Auxiliary encourages students from grades 3-12 to learn about the fundamental rights and freedoms American enjoy by participating in the essay contest with a different theme annually for cash prizes.
  • Keystone Girls State: The Auxiliary financially sponsors local youth annually to attend this state event that educates young women in the duties, privileges, rights and responsibilities of good citizenship. Delegates learn more about government through a weeklong process.
  • The Auxiliary also sponsors Liberty USO Philadelphia, Wreaths Across America, Travis Manion Foundation, The 103rd Engineer Battalion HHC, Fort Mifflin, and Intelligencer Give a Christmas.
