Renewal
Online Membership Yearly Renewal
Members who are enrolled in the American Legion and show an email address in their My Legion profile will receive an email notifying them to renew their membership online. Otherwise, they will receive their renewal in the mail. The link to renew your membership is https://www.legion.org/renew. To renew your membership, you will need to know your My Legion login info.
New Member
New Member Eligibility
The membership eligibility to join the American Legion is based on honorable service with the U.S. Armed Services (Army, Navy, Marines, Air Force, Coast Guard and Space Force). Applicants for membership must have served at least one day of active military duty during one of the dates below and have been honorably discharged or still serving honorably:
- (August 2, 1990 – Today) Note 1 Operation Desert Shield/Desert Storm
- (December 20, 1989 – January 31, 1990) Operation Just Cause
- (August 24, 1982 – July 31,1984) Lebanon/Grenada
- (February 28, 1961 – May 7, 1975) Vietnam War
- (June 25, 1950 – January 31, 1955) Korean War
- (December 7, 1941 – December 31, 1946) World War II
- (April 6, 1917 -November 11, 1918) World War I
Note 1 – All members of the U.S. Armed Forces are eligible to join The American Legion at this time, until the date of the end of hostilities as determined by the government of the United States.
American Legion New Membership Application
Eligible veterans applying for first time membership must submit the following information to the Post Membership Coordinator, who will review it with the Post Membership Committee:
1. Download and complete American Legion Membership application
- Print two (2) completed copies. Keep one copy for your records, and mail the other copy with your yearly dues’ payment of $47.00 to:

Doylestown, Pa. 18901 - Make Checks out to American Legion Post 210. Do not send cash.
Note: Applications are also available at the Post.
2. Include copy of DD214 Discharge
3. If the information is correct, your membership will be approved and then a membership card will be mailed to you.

Transfer
American Legion Post Membership Transfer
Veterans applying for transfers from your current Post to our Post must submit the following:
1. Download and complete Member Data Form, complete and print out three (3) copies. Note 1
Note 1: Follow directions on the Member Data Form for emailing Member Data Form to Department Headquarters MSSforms@legion.org.
2. Mail copy of Member Data Form, copy of DD214 and copy of Membership Card to:

Note 2: Membership dues payment if current year dues are not paid. If current dues are paid, please pay dues for next year’s membership.
